Where are my air filters located? Why are there no air filters in the air intake?

Some of our homes use air filters in the air intake; some of our homes use air filters in the air handler unit in the attic.  To determine which type of air filter your home uses, look at the air intake.

• If the air intake grill has latches, then the air intake should have a filter.
• If the air intake grill is screwed to the wall, then the air filter is installed in the air handler unit in the attic.
