Why is hot air not coming out of our heating system?
The heating system may not heat for several reasons:
- If no air is blowing from the air vents, confirm that the electricity and gas (if applicable) to the house has been turned on. Without electrical service and gas (if applicable), the heating system will not work.
- If air is blowing, but it is not warm, check the thermostat. The thermostat requires choosing both the temperature and the cool/heat setting. Check that the thermostat temperature is set to a temperature above the current interior temperature. Also, confirm that the heat setting has been chosen on the thermostat.
- If you have been in the attic recently, the blower switch may have been accidently flipped. The blower switch is the same as a light switch, but does not operate any attic lights.
If the heat still does not blow warm air, please send a Request through the Resident Center, noting that the thermostat has been checked.
