Why is the bathroom, kitchen, outside, or garage plug not working?
These types of plugs are on a special electrical circuit, a GFCI, which provides greater protection from electrical shock, especially in wet areas. If a plug in these areas is not working, but the lights are working, a GFCI plug may have tripped.
The GFCI plug can be identified by square plugs, with a test and reset button in the middle of the plug.
- If a bathroom plug is not working, find all the GFCI plugs, in every bathroom throughout the home, and push the reset buttons.
- If a kitchen plug is not working, find all the GFCI plugs in the kitchen and push the reset buttons.
- If an outside or garage plug is not working, find all the outside and garage GFCI plugs, and push the reset buttons.
Confirm that the non-working plug is now working. If the plug is still not working, please send a Request through the Resident Center.
