Why is the washing machine door not latching properly?
Over time, the washing machine door can experience some sagging, from repeated use or the weight of clothes placed on the door. To prevent issues in the future, do not place clothes on the washing machine or dryer doors.
Once the washing machine door starts sagging, the door will not close easily and will require a hard push to close, that may break the door hinge. Fixing a sagging door is much easier than repairing a broken hinge. If the washing machine door does not close easily, please submit a Request through the Resident Center.
