Why is the air conditioning not cooling the house?

The air conditioning may not cool for several reasons:

  1. If no air is blowing from the air vents, confirm that the electricity to the house has been turned on. Without electrical service, the air conditioning will not work.
  1. If air is blowing, but it is not cool, check the thermostat. The thermostat requires choosing both the temperature and the cool/heat setting.  Check that the thermostat temperature is set to a temperature below the current interior temperature.  Also, confirm that the cool setting has been chosen on the thermostat.
  1. If the electricity is on and the thermostat settings have been checked, locate the exterior air conditioning unit. Check that the exterior air conditioning unit sounds like it is blowing, when the air inside the house is blowing.  If its not making any noise while the air is blowing inside the house, check the breaker panel.

If the air conditioning still does not blow cool air, please send a Request through the Resident Center, noting that the breaker and the exterior air conditioning unit have been checked.
